Fresh Seafood. From boat to truck...LITERALLY!
91st street pier. 3 people rode the storm out in this building. mmmmmhmmmmm. BRILLIANT!
Leaving Galveston. On IH45, a major freeway. According to FEMA's new plan, I can only guess that everyone gets a large sailboat in which to live while rebuilding.
On 61st street.
Scotty's Bait camp. 61st street.
Every building lost some walls and some then just collapsed.
Debris in front of homes is worse for some.
This house sits across the highway from my office. It had a cinderblock fence around the perimeter & a 4 or 5 car garage underneath. There was a LOT of beach in front of it & huge dunes. Now it kinda sits in the water at high tide...
All this is normal to me now. Every day I drive to the island and we work on either my house or M&D's. I meet with Insurance adjusters or FEMA people & sign papers, update the website for the company...
I have power & water at my house. M&D have only water. The office has power & water & will open & be staffed starting Monday Oct 6. No vacation rentals are up & running, and the west end is NOT ready for that, but sales should start pretty soon. Phones & internet access should be back up at the office by the middle to the end of the month.
It is what it is & it's all good.
